Indian Fried Rice is a vibrant and flavourful dish that brings a delightful twist to the classic fried rice we all know and love. What sets Indian Fried Rice apart is its unique blend of ingredients, such as cumin, turmeric, and garam masala, which elevate the taste profile and add depth to each bite.

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 7 cloves garlic
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp chilli powder (less if you want it milder)
  • ½ tsp ground coriander
  • ¼ tsp turmeric
  • Juice of ½ lemon (optional)
  • Small handful of coriander

Step 1

Roughly chop up the garlic

Step 2

Heat the oil in a pan and add the cumin seeds. Once they start to sizzle, add the garlic.

Step 3

Fry for a few minutes until lightly browned. Then, add the rice along with the dried spices. Toss everything together until the rice is evenly coated.

Step 4

Season with ½ teaspoon of salt. Finish by adding the lemon juice and coriander.
