These momo are super easy to throw together, fill, fold (fancy pleats or quick and simple, up to you), steam, and you’re halfway there. Dunk them in that creamy, spicy sauce which is perfect for snack time, or quick dinner!
Ingredients - Momo
500g mince chicken or pork
1/2 red onion, chopped
Small handful coriander, chopped
100g white cabbage, chopped
3 cloves garlic
1 tsp ginger, grated
1 green chilli, minced
1-2 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 package round dumpling wrappers
Tomato-Peanut Chutney
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/2 red onion, chopped
2 clove minced garlic
1 green chilli, minced
1 large tomato, cut into chunks
2 tbsp natural, chunky peanut putter
Step 1
Combine all the ingredients for the momo in a bowl.
Step 2
Place 1 tablespoon of filling onto each dumpling wrapper, then either pleat the edges to seal or simply fold them over and press to close.
Step 3
Place the dumplings in a steamer basket and steam for 10 minutes.
Step 4
For the chutney, fry the onion and cumin seeds in 1 tbsp of oil.
Step 5
Add in the garlic, green chilli and cook for another minute.
Step 6
Then add the tomato and cook for another 3 mins.
Step 7
Transfer everything to a blender, add the peanut butter and 150ml of water, then blend until smooth.
Step 8
Pour the blended chutney back into the pan and simmer until it thickens. Season with ½ teaspoon of salt.
Step 9
Serve the warm momo alongside the peanut chutney and enjoy!
