Prawn tostadas are a delightful Mexican-inspired dish, combining crispy tortillas with juicy, marinated prawns and fresh toppings. Perfect as a light lunch, dinner, or party appetizer, these tostadas are bursting with flavours and textures—from crunchy bases to vibrant garnishes. They’re quick to make and customizable!

 

 

Ingredients

  • 300g raw prawns
  • aguachile dressing
  • One bunch coriander
  • 2 limes
  • 2-3 jalapeños
  • A pinch of salt
  • 2 Avocados
  • 6 Corn tortilla
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced and soaked in cold water

Step 1

Fry the corn tortillas until crispy, then sprinkle with Tajín.

Step 2

Mash the avocado with a pinch of salt and a squeeze of lime.

Step 3

Blend the ingredients for the aguachile dressing until smooth.

Step 4

Roughly chop the raw prawns and mix them with the aguachile dressing. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes to allow the acidity to "cook" the prawns.

Step 5

Spread the mashed avocado on the crispy tostadas, then top with the prawns, onion, and a sprinkle of Tajín.
