One of my favourite quick lunches is this tuna dish paired with plenty of fresh kimchi. The Spicy Tuna Bagel is a delicious fusion of classic deli flavours with a modern, spicy twist. It combines the richness of a creamy tuna salad with the heat of chilli flakes or sriracha, all nestled inside a toasted bagel. Perfect for lunch on the go, brunch with friends, or an easy dinner, the Spicy Tuna Bagel is versatile, filling, and a great way to elevate the ordinary tuna sandwich.

Ingredients

  • Tinned tuna in brine
  • Kimchi + with 2 tbsp kimchi juice
  • Chilli oil
  • Soy sauce
  • Spring onions
  • Sugar (or honey)
  • Tomatoes + salt
  • Lettuce
  • Avocados
  • Bagel

Step 1

Drain the tinned tuna from its brine and place it in a bowl.

Step 2

Add 2 tablespoons of kimchi juice to the tuna. Stir in a splash of chili oil and a splash of soy sauce to taste. Mix in a small pinch of sugar or a drizzle of honey for a touch of sweetness.

Step 3

Finely chop the spring onions, dice the tomatoes and season with a pinch of salt, and slice the avocado.

Step 4

Slice and toast the bagel to your preference, then spread a layer of kimchi on one half. Top with the tuna mixture, followed by the diced tomatoes, avocado slices, and spring onions, and finish with a handful of fresh lettuce.

Step 5

Top with the other half of the bagel and enjoy your quick and flavorful tuna lunch with plenty of fresh kimchi!
